據ESPN報導，騎士當家球星詹姆斯（LeBron James）已經決定跳出合約，成為一名自由球員，不過他不會再換東家，會與騎士續約。

詹姆斯的這個決定可以說是在預料之中，這將是他6年內第三次成為自由球員。

騎士總經理葛瑞芬（David Griffin）透露，總決賽結束後，詹姆斯便始終與球隊進行溝通，探討今年夏天騎士該如何補強。

雖然騎士可能沒有足夠的薪資空間，但是他們還是能夠在今夏為詹姆斯提供一份年薪在2200萬美元的合約。

不出意外的话，詹姆斯預計會與球隊再簽一份類似1+1的短約(第2年為球員選項)，這使得他能夠在明年夏天繼續成為自由球員，以便在薪資上限大漲後，使自己的利益最大化。屆時詹姆斯可以輕鬆拿到一份起薪超過3000萬美元的天價合約。
